Zenith Unleashes Two New Limited Edition Defy Extreme Chroma Watches

December 02

Zenith has expanded its Defy Extreme Chroma series with the introduction of two striking new limited-edition models. These timepieces, each produced in an exclusive run of 100 units, continue Zenith's tradition of exploring bold designs and advanced horological techniques. Both models incorporate vibrant color elements and robust materials, offering collectors distinctive options within the high-performance Defy Extreme collection.

The latest additions to the Defy Extreme Chroma line maintain the series' signature 45mm titanium case, paired with either black or white ceramic components. One variant showcases a microblasted titanium finish complemented by black ceramic accents, while the other features a blend of brushed and polished titanium alongside white ceramic elements. Each watch measures 15.4mm in thickness and has a lug-to-lug distance of 51mm, providing a substantial presence on the wrist. A sapphire dial and a screw-down crown ensure durability and water resistance up to 20 ATM.

At the heart of these timepieces is Zenith's renowned El Primero 9004 movement. This intricate caliber boasts a unique dual escapement system: one operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour for precise timekeeping, and a second, much faster escapement at 360,000 vibrations per hour, dedicated to its 1/100th-second chronograph function. The movement offers a reliable 50-hour power reserve, making it both powerful and practical. Aesthetically, the movement's bridges are adorned with multiple vibrant colors, enhancing the visual appeal, while the rotors are distinctly colored – blue for the black ceramic edition and green for the white ceramic model.

Each Defy Extreme Chroma watch comes with versatile strap options to suit different preferences and occasions. Owners will receive a rubber strap that matches the case color, a robust titanium bracelet, and a functional black Velcro strap. All straps are easily interchangeable, thanks to the watch's integrated quick-change system, thoughtfully located on the underside of the case. This feature allows for effortless customization and ensures the watches can adapt to various styles and activities.

Priced at $20,600, both the titanium and black ceramic version, with its black openworked dial, and the titanium and white ceramic version, with its white openworked dial, are now available. These limited-edition pieces are designed for enthusiasts who appreciate a blend of high-end horology, innovative design, and a touch of playful yet sophisticated color. The careful integration of a vivid spectrum across the movement and dial markings elevates these watches beyond mere timekeeping devices, establishing them as wearable art within the Defy Extreme collection.
