Czapek Unveils Three New Cosmic Blue Antarctique Watches
Czapek has once again focused on its highly successful Antarctique collection for Watches and Wonders 2026, unveiling three distinct variations, each imbued with a striking new "Cosmic Blue" hue. While not revolutionary in terms of entirely new models, these releases primarily introduce titanium casing to two of the iterations and a fresh, captivating blue aesthetic across the board. The collection, known for its integrated bracelet design, expands with the Antarctique Révélation Titanium Cosmic Blue, the Antarctique Dark Sector Cosmic Blue, and the Antarctique Tourbillon Titanium Cosmic Blue, offering enthusiasts a vibrant and subtly updated selection.
The Antarctique Révélation Titanium Cosmic Blue stands out, or rather, aims to, with its skeletonized design. While some might find skeletonized dials challenging for immediate readability, the cosmic blue accents on the flanges and applied indices, contrasted with an anthracite finished Calibre SXH7 movement, are intended to enhance legibility. This movement, featuring a microrotor, boasts a 60-hour power reserve at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Available for the first time in titanium, it comes in two case sizes: 40.5mm and a more compact 38.5mm, known as the Antarctique 'S' case. Each watch is paired with a matching titanium bracelet, offering a choice of brushed or brushed and polished finishes, alongside a complimentary strap. Production is limited, with up to 50 pieces for the 40.5mm version and up to 25 for the 38.5mm, priced at 42,000 CHF.
Among the newly released cosmic blue models, the Antarctique Tourbillon Titanium Cosmic Blue is arguably the most visually stunning. It shares the familiar case design with its counterparts but differentiates itself with remarkable depth and the exquisite texture of a hand-guilloché dial, featuring Czapek’s signature Singularité pattern, meticulously crafted by Metalem. This 40.5mm titanium timepiece showcases a hand-finished gear train bridge, with the mainspring barrel positioned at 12 o'clock and the tourbillon at 6 o'clock. Powering this intricate watch is the Czapek Calibre 9, a movement that, while not entirely in-house, represents Czapek's closest endeavor to internal production, with much of its conception, machining, and assembly performed in-house. Visible through a sapphire caseback, the movement is adorned with a hand-engraved rose gold rotor and provides a 72-hour power reserve at 21,600 vph. This limited edition comprises 25 pieces, each priced at 67,000 CHF.
The Antarctique Dark Sector Cosmic Blue is anticipated to be the most sought-after due to its clean aesthetic, making it a quintessential representation of the Antarctique series. Notably, the 'Sector' was also the inaugural Antarctique model to be offered in titanium, meaning this release primarily introduces the new vibrant dial color. Like the Révélation, this model is available in both 40.5mm and the 38.5mm 'S' case. It is powered by the Calibre SXH5, offering a 60-hour power reserve at 28,800 vph, and features a rotor crafted from recycled platinum. The Antarctique Dark Sector Cosmic Blue is priced at 32,000 CHF, with a limited production of 25 pieces for the 40.5mm version and 10 pieces for the 38.5mm variant.
While these Cosmic Blue editions are not groundbreaking introductions, they represent thoughtful and appealing extensions to the Antarctique collection. Czapek's existing lineup includes two other blue shades: a lighter Glacier Blue and a deeper Aqua Blue, which leans towards a slate tone. The new Cosmic Blue injects a vibrant and distinct hue that truly stands out. Czapek is celebrated for its diverse and exciting dial offerings, and this particular addition brings a pure, unadulterated color that, without being overly extravagant, comfortably finds its place within the brand's distinguished catalog, appealing to those who appreciate a blend of classic design with a contemporary splash of color.
