Corum Unveils Three Ceramic Admiral Timepieces at Geneva Watch Days 2026
Corum has unveiled three groundbreaking ceramic Admiral watches at Geneva Watch Days 2026, signaling a bold new direction for its celebrated collection. These additions integrate high-performance ceramic for the first time, offering designs that are both robust and elegantly modern. The collection includes a sleek titanium blue version, a luxurious two-tone variant incorporating 5N gold, and an intricate skeletonized model crafted from urban anthracite ceramic. These releases showcase Corum's dedication to blending sport-chic aesthetics with advanced horological craftsmanship.
The reimagined Admiral timepieces are equipped with entirely in-house developed movements and feature integrated bracelets, a first for the series. This blend of technical innovation and refined design underscores Corum's commitment to its heritage while embracing contemporary materials and engineering. The collection's lighter, scratch-resistant ceramic construction enhances wearability without compromising the Admiral's signature elegance, embodying the brand's vision for durable, precise, and high-performing luxury watches.
The Admiral Collection: A New Era of Ceramic
Corum's iconic Admiral collection, first introduced in 1960 and redefined in 1983, enters a new chapter with the integration of ceramic. This material choice reflects a strategic move to infuse contemporary performance and enhanced durability into the series. The 2026 Geneva Watch Days presentation highlights three distinct ceramic models: a sophisticated titanium blue, a luxurious two-tone version accented with 5N gold, and an urban-inspired skeletonized timepiece in anthracite ceramic. Each watch is designed to resonate with both long-time enthusiasts and new admirers, offering a fresh take on the collection's nautical spirit while retaining its inherent elegance. The ceramic construction ensures a lighter feel on the wrist and superior scratch resistance, aligning perfectly with the collection's sporty character without sacrificing its refined appeal.
Haso Mehmedovic, Chairman & CEO of Corum, emphasized the transformative role of ceramic in the Admiral collection. He noted that the material brings modern performance and an unforgiving precision to the timepieces, reflecting Corum's renewed focus on meticulous manufacturing and a commitment to its rich legacy. The updated design language, first introduced in April 2026, now features redesigned pennants as trapezoidal indices, paired with an integrated bracelet and an entirely in-house developed movement. This comprehensive overhaul aims to position the Admiral as a symbol of sporting prowess, accuracy, and enduring quality, embodying a spirit built to last and to perform at the highest level.
Advanced In-House Caliber and Integrated Design
Central to the innovation of Corum's new Admiral collection is the development of an exclusive in-house caliber, meticulously crafted with Concepto, Corum's movement manufacturing arm. These 39 mm timepieces are powered by two versions of this advanced movement: the CO231, comprising 172 components, and its skeletonized counterpart, the CO232, featuring 181 components. Both self-winding movements operate at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), offering an impressive three-day power reserve. The movements are visible through a sapphire caseback, showcasing intricate decorations such as satin-brushed surfaces, polished bevels, and a grained mainplate. A gilded, grained rotor, engraved with “The Key of Time Since 1955” and adorned with Corum’s signature key, further emphasizes the brand's dedication to aesthetic and mechanical excellence.
The skeletonized version of the movement stands out with its open-worked architecture, simplifying the display to just hours, minutes, and seconds. This design choice not only enhances legibility but also allows light to interact dynamically with the caliber's intricate structure, highlighting the artistry within. Complementing these sophisticated movements is the newly integrated bracelet, a pioneering feature in the Admiral's history. The design eliminates traditional lugs, creating a seamless flow from the case to the wrist. The bracelet's five-link construction achieves a precise balance of textures: a satin-brushed central link is flanked by two polished links, which are in turn bordered by two finer satin-brushed links. This thoughtful interplay of proportions and finishes gives the bracelet a distinctive and strong presence, marking a significant advancement in both the functionality and visual appeal of the Admiral collection.
