Bulgari Unveils Dazzling Tubogas Manchette Lady Solotempo Watch at LVMH Watch Week

January 19

Bulgari has once again demonstrated its exceptional craftsmanship and rich heritage with the debut of a stunning Tubogas Manchette at LVMH Watch Week. This remarkable creation, crafted from yellow gold, honors the brand's origins as a Roman goldsmith renowned for its breathtaking high jewelry pieces featuring radiant gemstones. The new cuff seamlessly blends Bulgari's distinctive Tubogas aesthetic with its expertise in developing ultra-thin automatic movements, notably incorporating the recently revealed Lady Solotempo BVS 100.

The cuff's design draws inspiration from a classic Bulgari motif dating back to 1948, characterized by its elegant coiling around the wrist with slender, tapering links. Named after the intricate coils of a gas pipe, the Tubogas concept was famously used in Bulgari's iconic Serpenti bracelet watches. This contemporary Manchette model reinterprets a 1974 archival design, featuring rounded links that wrap sensuously like a golden ribbon. To achieve the bracelet's remarkable flexibility, Bulgari has pioneered a novel manufacturing process where each link is meticulously molded and polished before being assembled onto a supple titanium core. The timepiece is embellished with a small, circular dial framed by a dazzling array of gemstones and diamonds, with sunray patterns intricately engraved into the gold cuff. A rich spectrum of colors is achieved through the artful placement of citrines, rubellites, peridots, amethysts, topazes, and spessartites, showcasing a variety of cuts, including Bulgari's signature cabochon, as well as pear and round shapes.

Encased within a 16mm yellow gold housing integrated into the bracelet's initial link, the watch features a yellow gold crown and gold-plated hour and minute hands. A transparent caseback offers a glimpse into the sophisticated automatic Lady Solotempo BVS 100 caliber, a movement previously introduced in the smaller Serpenti watches. Building upon Bulgari's extensive experience with movements like the Solotempo BVL 191 automatic, the ultra-thin Finissimo calibers, and the compact BVL 150 Tourbillon, this time-only movement was the culmination of three years of dedicated development at Bulgari's advanced manufacturing facility in Le Sentier, Switzerland. Despite its modest diameter of 19mm, thickness of 3.9mm, and a mere weight of 5 grams, the Lady Solotempo caliber boasts an impressive 50-hour power reserve. This extraordinary piece of horological art is priced at EUR 194,000.

This magnificent timepiece stands as a testament to Bulgari's unwavering dedication to innovation, artistry, and precision. It not only celebrates a rich historical legacy but also pushes the boundaries of contemporary design and mechanical engineering, inspiring awe and admiration for the intricate balance of beauty and technical excellence in fine watchmaking.
