Gerald Genta Unveils Geneva Time Only: A Refined 38mm Masterpiece

January 19

La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton has introduced an exquisite addition to the Gérald Genta collection: the Geneva Time Only. This new series features two 38mm timepieces that elegantly combine fluid design, meticulous architectural elements, and perfectly balanced proportions, all within a simplified, time-only mechanism. These latest creations uphold the distinct design philosophy established by the Geneva Minute Repeater, but with a refined focus on essential timekeeping.

Expertly crafted entirely in-house at La Fabrique des Boîtiers, the watch case presents an appearance of effortless grace despite its intricate construction. Measuring 38mm in diameter and a slender 8.15mm in thickness, it achieves a harmonious balance of substantial presence and sophisticated refinement. The distinctive cushion-shaped case exemplifies a continuous evolution of Genta’s renowned geometric aesthetics, seamlessly blending the robust contours of a square with the gentle curves of a circle. Complementing this, the double gadroons, which are signature parallel bands encircling the case flank, introduce a dynamic visual tension. The integrated appearance is further enhanced by single-piece lugs on either side. Every surface of the case undergoes a meticulous hand-finishing process, alternating between satin brushing and high polishing to accentuate the graceful curves and transitions of its structure.

Gérald Genta offers these new timepieces in two distinct variants: one crafted in radiant rose gold and the other in classic white gold. The Geneva Time Only Marrone captivates with its warm, unified aesthetic, encased in 4N rose gold and featuring a smoked brown dial. This is complemented by tone-on-tone rose gold hands and indices, creating a cohesive and elegant look. In contrast, the Geneva Time Only Grafite showcases a cooler, more subdued expression of the same design, presenting a white gold case paired with a sophisticated silver-grey dial, accented by rose gold hands and markers. Both versions feature a two-segment grained brass dial, which further emphasizes the collection’s masterful integration of geometric forms. The outer minute track gracefully follows the soft, cushion-shaped outline of the case, while the inner track adopts a perfect circular form, generating a delightful optical interplay when viewed from various angles. The functional beauty of these timepieces is completed by polished and subtly rounded hands, each tipped with a delicate arrow point.

At the heart of the Gérald Genta Geneva Time Only lies the calibre GG-005P, an automatic movement that has been developed from the Zenith Elite 670 and meticulously re-engineered by La Fabrique du Temps specifically for Gérald Genta. This sophisticated movement, which also powers the Gentissima collection, is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Comprising 158 components and featuring 27 jewels, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a reliable 50-hour power reserve. A distinctive feature of this calibre is its oscillating mass, which has been uniquely redesigned for this exclusive collection, underscoring the bespoke craftsmanship inherent in each timepiece.

Each variant of the watch is paired with a handcrafted calfskin strap, secured by a matching gold pin buckle. The Marrone model comes with a rich brown strap, while the Grafite model features a stylish grey calfskin strap, ensuring overall aesthetic harmony. These exceptional timepieces will be available starting January 2026, with both references priced at CHF 25,000 (excluding taxes).
