Breguet Classique Répétition Minutes 7365: A New Era in Horological Sound
Celebrating its 250th milestone, Breguet introduces a remarkable timepiece, the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365. This limited-edition minute repeater stands as a testament to the brand's rich heritage while boldly embracing future horological advancements. It masterfully combines the classic artistry associated with Breguet's chiming watches with a completely novel case design, fashioned from a unique gold alloy, and an innovative movement architecture that incorporates several technical breakthroughs, setting a new standard for precision and elegance.
The latest Breguet Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 maintains the refined aesthetic and understated elegance characteristic of Breguet's Classique Repeater collection, yet a closer inspection reveals significant enhancements. The timepiece features a more compact 39mm by 10.8mm case, crafted from an exclusive 18k Breguet gold alloy, which includes gold, silver, copper, and palladium. This new dimension offers superior ergonomic comfort compared to the previous 42mm by 12.25mm models, notably due to its integrated lugs and a subtly curved profile first seen in the Souscription 2025. The case band is adorned with a hand-guilloché “Quai de l’Horloge” pattern, commemorating Abraham-Louis Breguet’s original Parisian workshop from 1775, all framed by a polished domed bezel. A groundbreaking feature for Breguet's chiming watches is its 30-meter water resistance, achieved through specially designed gaskets that seal the minute repeater slide.
A striking innovation of this anniversary edition is the dial, which is presented in a deep, regal Bleu de France grand feu enamel finish. This captivating color evokes the grandeur of Versailles and the French royal court, forming a poetic link to Breguet's distinguished 18th-century clientele. The dial's minimalist design remains quintessentially Breguet, featuring applied numerals in polished Breguet gold, hollowed “pomme” hands, the iconic brand logo at 12 o’clock, and a discreet, hand-engraved secret signature at 6 o’clock, ensuring both elegance and authenticity.
While the exterior design pays homage to Breguet’s illustrious past, the internal mechanics propel the timepiece into the future. The new Calibre 1896 supersedes the long-standing 567.2 movement, introducing a suite of innovations. This marks the first instance of a Breguet minute repeater crafted entirely from Breguet gold, encompassing its bridges, plates, and even the white-gold gongs, which are gilded in Breguet gold. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the calibre provides enhanced stability and resilience against shocks, along with an impressive 75-hour power reserve, thanks to an optimized gear train and barrel. The integration of a silicon escapement—comprising the balance spring, lever, and escape wheel—renders the movement non-magnetic and largely immune to temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, its certification under the Breguet Hallmark guarantees remarkable precision within ±2 seconds per day, a pioneering achievement for the brand's repeaters.
The hand-engraved bridges of the movement narrate a symbolic story: the upper half elegantly depicts the Quai de l’Horloge in Paris, while the lower section reveals the serene Vallée de Joux, home to Breguet’s contemporary Manufacture. Each exquisite piece is individually numbered and boasts exceptional manual finishing, underscoring its unique craftsmanship. The watch is complemented by a hand-stitched French blue alligator leather strap, secured with an 18k Breguet gold folding clasp that features the identical “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché pattern found on the case, creating a harmonious and distinguished aesthetic.
The Breguet Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 is a limited edition, with only 25 pieces available exclusively through Breguet boutiques, priced at EUR 328,200. This timepiece embodies a fusion of Breguet's historical mastery and its continuous pursuit of innovation, creating a new benchmark in minute repeaters. It represents not just a watch, but a piece of horological art, connecting past traditions with future aspirations.
