Smyth Jewelers to Inaugurate New Showroom in Bel Air This Fall
Smyth Jewelers, an esteemed century-old enterprise, has officially secured a sublease for a significant 12,500-square-foot property at 1201 E. Churchville Road in Bel Air, MD. This strategic move, facilitated by commercial real estate firm TD&A, paves the way for the opening of a brand-new showroom in the coming autumn, marking a notable expansion for the company.
The property, previously occupied by Walgreens, is set to undergo extensive renovations, transforming it into a state-of-the-art jewelry retail space. This investment, approximately $650,000, is expected to generate between 12 and 15 employment opportunities for the local community. The precise grand opening date is contingent on the delivery and installation of custom display cases, essential for showcasing the jeweler's exquisite collections. This new establishment will be Smyth Jewelers' fourth location in Maryland, complementing its existing stores in Timonium, Annapolis, and Ellicott City, and further solidifying its presence in the region.
Bob Yanega, Chief Financial Officer of Smyth Jewelers, expressed enthusiasm for the new venture, stating the company's long-standing appreciation for the Bel Air community and its dynamic growth. The transaction saw Steven Cornblatt and Coleman Tirone of TD&A representing Smyth Jewelers, while Geoff Mackler and Alex Shiel of H&R Retail acted on behalf of Walgreens. This expansion underscores Smyth Jewelers' enduring legacy since its founding in 1914 and its forward-looking vision for retail in the jewelry sector.
Smyth Jewelers' commitment to growth and community engagement shines through this latest expansion. By investing in new spaces and creating jobs, the company not only enhances its retail footprint but also contributes positively to the economic vibrancy of the areas it serves. This dedication to excellence and community welfare exemplifies a principled approach to business, promising continued success and positive impact.
