Cincinnati, Ohio – The Community for Ethical Jewelry (CEJ) proudly announced the appointment of Marianna Smirnova as its new Executive Director. The organization, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is dedicated to promoting ethical sourcing, sustainability, and responsible business practices across the global jewelry sector. Smirnova, an experienced leader with over 18 years in the field of sustainability, human rights, responsible sourcing, due diligence, and mineral supply chains, is set to significantly contribute to CEJ's mission. Before joining CEJ, Smirnova held prominent positions as Senior Advisor to both the Global Battery Alliance (GBA) and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). She also dedicated a decade to the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), serving as Senior Director and Interim Head. Throughout her career, Smirnova has collaborated with numerous organizations at the forefront of responsible sourcing, ethical jewelry, and artisanal mining, including the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM), and the Diamond Development Initiative (DDI), among others.
