Hublot Unveils Meca-10 Street Art Editions to Mark Big Bang's 20th Anniversary

December 15

Hublot marked the culmination of the Big Bang's 20th anniversary celebrations with a vibrant and energetic event during Miami Art Week. The brand introduced the Meca-10 Street Art editions, a collection of four distinct and expressive timepieces. These new releases, with their daring designs, perfectly encapsulate Hublot's signature maximalist aesthetic and celebrate two decades of innovation for the Big Bang series.

The event, held at the Basement of the Miami Beach EDITION hotel, mirrored the watches' bold character with its neon-lit ambiance and a performance by 50 Cent. Each of the four Meca-10 Street Art models features a 44mm by 15.3mm composite concrete case, meticulously hand-painted with UV-reactive, splattered designs. The collection includes "Magic City" in purple and green, "Vice" in hot pink with blue accents, "Big Water" in bright blue with grey details, and the "Sunshine" edition, a personal favorite, blending yellow, orange, and green with subtle pink touches. These unique timepieces are powered by the openworked HUB1201 Meca-10 caliber, known for its distinctive architecture and a remarkable 10-day power reserve. The watches boast black accents from PVD-coated titanium components and come with matching hand-painted rubber straps, further enhancing their artistic appeal. Each colorway is limited to just 10 individually numbered pieces, reflecting their exclusivity and collector-oriented nature, with a price tag of $57,500.

These Meca-10 Street Art editions are a clear reflection of Hublot's strategic direction under CEO Julian Tornare, who has been steering the brand towards an increased focus on its in-house watchmaking capabilities. While the striking aesthetic of these watches is undoubtedly the immediate draw, they also underscore Hublot’s commitment to technical sophistication. By combining intricate movements with avant-garde designs, Hublot continues to challenge traditional perceptions of luxury watchmaking, catering to a niche of devoted collectors who appreciate both the artistry and the engineering. This launch solidifies Hublot's position at the intersection of high horology and contemporary art, demonstrating that innovation in both form and function can coexist harmoniously.
