Hublot Unveils Big Bang Unico Reloaded Collection, Featuring Mbappé and Bolt Editions

April 14

Hublot marks the 16th anniversary of its iconic Big Bang Unico series with the launch of the new Big Bang Unico Reloaded collection. This latest offering, consisting of five distinct models, exemplifies Hublot's 'Art of Fusion' philosophy, blending striking aesthetics with pioneering material use. The collection prominently features the advanced Unico in-house flyback chronograph movement, a testament to the brand's continuous innovation in watchmaking.

The collection showcases a meticulously refined design, with a particular focus on enhancing the readability of the dial while highlighting key movement components. The Unico movement, Hublot's proprietary flyback chronograph, has undergone significant evolution since its 2010 debut, culminating in a more compact, high-performance, and fully integrated caliber. This second-generation movement boasts five patented innovations, ensuring exceptional precision and a substantial 72-hour power reserve. Visible through both the dial and caseback, its intricate column wheel and dual horizontal clutch mechanisms are now accentuated with vibrant colors and precise inscriptions. The redesigned dial also features a repositioned date display, indicated by a Super-LumiNova arrow, and a bolder 60-minute sub-dial with colored markers and a coordinated hand, contributing to a less cluttered and more legible appearance. The case, retaining its robust 44mm diameter and 100m water resistance, now incorporates a two-part bezel, allowing for an even greater variety of material and finish combinations.

Highlighting its commitment to athletic excellence, Hublot has also introduced two limited-edition timepieces within the Reloaded collection, inspired by and co-created with brand ambassadors Kylian Mbappé and Usain Bolt. The Kylian Mbappé edition fuses 18k King Gold with microblasted white ceramic, featuring his 'Trust Yourself' mantra and a gold-toned '10' on the dial, along with yellow and black accents. The Usain Bolt edition combines black ceramic and carbon with an 18k yellow gold bezel, inscribed with 'Anything is Possible, Don't Think Limits.' This watch uniquely incorporates authentic soil from Bolt's Jamaican training ground within the caseback, alongside a lightning bolt-shaped chronograph hand and numerical details referencing his world record. Each watch comes with two straps, offering versatility and personalized style, and demonstrates Hublot's dedication to pushing boundaries in both design and horological engineering, reflecting the spirit of ambition and achievement.

These innovative timepieces, rich in technical sophistication and design artistry, inspire a celebration of human potential and the relentless pursuit of excellence. They remind us that true mastery lies not only in precision and craftsmanship but also in the ability to fuse tradition with groundbreaking innovation, creating artifacts that transcend mere functionality to become symbols of aspiration and achievement.
