This new series of “face watches” integrates Behrens’ signature asymmetric “Ultralight” case with a bespoke movement that draws inspiration from Chaykin’s renowned “Wristmons” line, celebrated for its expressive, anthropomorphic dials. The collection features several limited-edition variations, utilizing diverse materials such as titanium, colored carbon fiber, and sapphire crystal, offering a unique blend of avant-garde aesthetics and precision engineering.

This partnership builds upon their successful 2023 collaboration, which introduced the Behrens x Konstantin Chaykin Joker Limited Edition. While Behrens also recently launched a high-end limited-edition KWH watch in collaboration with Vianney Halter, the Ace of Hearts collection aims to deliver a more accessible yet equally imaginative product. These timepieces are distinguished by haute horology characteristics, including meticulous hand-finishing, the use of unconventional materials, and an in-house developed mechanical movement, reflecting a commitment to both artistry and technical excellence.

At the heart of the Behrens x Konstantin Chaykin Ace of Hearts watch lies the manually wound Behrens caliber BM07 movement. This intricate mechanism is engineered not only for its precision but also for its visual appeal, featuring a “Joker-style” display where the hours and minutes are shown through distinct subdials resembling eyes. A small power reserve indicator is situated at the top of the dial, while a “mouth-style” seconds indicator features a hand that traces the aperture's outline. This unique seconds display is rooted in a classic mechanical gearing system historically used in mills and stone grinding applications. The movement’s highly visible regulation system is thoughtfully positioned in the center of the mouth, adding a fascinating, albeit somewhat unconventional, element to the watch’s overall design. This combination results in another compelling and finely crafted “face watch” from Chaykin, expertly manufactured by Behrens.

However, the brand also caters to the ultra-luxury segment, as exemplified by the KWH collaboration models with their gold cases, which can retail for approximately $50,000.

The aesthetic of the Behrens x Konstantin Chaykin Ace of Hearts is decidedly bold and not intended for everyday subtlety. Its dial presents a striking, almost animated mechanical face that exudes a dynamic and adventurous spirit, making it ideal for those seeking a timepiece with a distinct personality. Despite its avant-garde appearance, the watch is engineered for comfort, featuring an asymmetric case that sits discreetly on the wrist. The case, measuring 42mm by 37mm and 7.9mm thick, also offers 50 meters of water resistance. The collection features cases crafted from three different materials: lightweight titanium, SPSCF (a layered carbon fiber available in various colors), and tinted sapphire crystal. All models come fitted with quick-release fluoroelastomer straps in an array of colors, similar to those found on Behrens’ 11G Ultra-Light watches.

Behrens has confirmed that the Ace of Hearts will be available in several limited editions: 600 pieces in titanium, 150 pieces for each SPSCF “diamond carbon fiber” variant, and 80 pieces for each sapphire crystal case. A particularly exclusive pink-tinted sapphire crystal version will be limited to just 20 units. Pricing for the Behrens x Konstantin Chaykin Ace of Hearts limited edition watches begins at $7,500 USD for the titanium model, escalating to $13,600 USD for the sapphire crystal editions.
