Baltic Unveils Limited Edition MR Moissanite Watch: A Dazzling Farewell to the Original Series
Baltic, renowned for its accessible yet sophisticated timepieces, is set to captivate watch aficionados with its latest offering: the limited-edition MR Moissanite. This release signifies a grand finale for the inaugural MR series, celebrated for its distinctive 36mm casing and innovative micro-rotor mechanism. Launched initially in 2021 with an elegant Breguet-style dial, the MR collection expanded in 2024 to include a roulette-inspired dial, both gaining significant traction for making micro-rotor technology more attainable. As the brand prepares for a new iteration of the MR, the Moissanite edition emerges as a dazzling farewell, initially conceived as a unique piece but now available as a highly exclusive collection of 200 watches.
The MR Moissanite retains the beloved classic proportions of its predecessors, featuring a 36mm diameter, a 44mm lug-to-lug distance, and a svelte 9.9mm thickness, all crowned with a domed acrylic crystal. Its slender profile is enhanced by a meticulously horizontally brushed mid-case, beautifully contrasting with the polished elements of the case back and bezel. What sets this edition apart is the bezel, which, instead of the usual vertically brushed finish, is magnificently set with baguette-cut moissanite stones. This luxurious embellishment, paired with either the refined Breguet-style or the playful roulette-style black dials, creates a visually stunning effect, akin to a diamond necklace complementing a classic black dress.
Adding to its allure, the Hangzhou 5000A micro-rotor movement within the MR Moissanite receives a unique aesthetic treatment. While typically showcasing steel-toned bridges with circular Geneva stripes, this special edition features blacked-out bridges with a coarse texture and polished, raised edges. The movement maintains its robust performance with a 28,800 vibrations per hour frequency, 34 jewels, and a 42-hour power reserve, all visible through the Hesalite crystal case back. With a water resistance of 30 meters, the MR Moissanite is both beautiful and practical. Available on either a black calfskin strap for €1,100 or a beads-of-rice bracelet for €1,160, each dial version is limited to just 100 pieces, making this release a truly coveted item for collectors and enthusiasts.
This limited-edition release by Baltic exemplifies the brand's commitment to innovation and accessible luxury. By integrating precious stones and refining internal mechanics, Baltic offers a timepiece that not only tells time but also tells a story of elegance and exclusivity. It serves as a reminder that luxury isn't just about price, but about thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, and the emotional connection a product evokes.
