Armin Strom Unveils Exquisite Tribute² Aurum Edition Watch

January 15

Armin Strom has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Tribute² Aurum Edition, a watch that elevates the brand's distinguished dress watch series to new heights of horological artistry. Building on the foundation of the 2021 Tribute 1, which marked Armin Strom's entry into the dress watch category with its subtly elegant design, the new Aurum Edition embraces a more open and intricately decorated approach. This exquisite timepiece, a collaboration that further refines the aesthetic and technical prowess seen in previous iterations, is characterized by its meticulous hand-finishing and a more revealing display of its internal mechanisms.

The Tribute² Aurum Edition maintains the familiar refined contours and compact dimensions of its predecessors. Encased in a 38mm stainless steel body with a slender profile of less than 10mm, the watch exudes both sophistication and a sharp modern edge. Its design thoughtfully incorporates signature brand elements, such as the subtle 'lip' at 6 o'clock, alongside structured lugs and a harmonious blend of polished and brushed surfaces. A distinctive crown positioned at 2 o'clock enhances both its unique appeal and ergonomic comfort, while sapphire crystals on both sides and a 50m water resistance ensure durability. The dial's foundation, serving as the movement's main plate, is crafted from brass and lavishly gold-plated, then meticulously hand-finished using the rare tremblage technique, creating a rich, textured surface. This is complemented by a smoked grey sub-dial adorned with gold-hued hands and markers.

At the heart of this timepiece is the hand-wound Calibre AMW21, an entirely in-house developed and manufactured movement. Despite its compact size, it boasts an impressive 100-hour power reserve, thanks to an innovative motor barrel construction that efficiently transfers energy to the gear train. Operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour, the movement features a variable inertia balance wheel and a flat overcoil spring, further distinguished by a three-dimensional escapement wheel bridge with a polished sink and Geneva stripes on the three-quarter bridge visible through the sapphire caseback. The movement undergoes a dual assembly process, underscoring Armin Strom's dedication to precision. This limited edition of 10 pieces, presented on a taupe Epsom strap, is available for CHF 27,000.

The Armin Strom Tribute² Aurum Edition is a testament to the brand's relentless pursuit of horological excellence, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. It invites enthusiasts to appreciate the intricate beauty of mechanics, offering a window into the soul of the watch. This creation reminds us that true innovation lies not only in groundbreaking technology but also in the meticulous refinement of enduring art forms, pushing boundaries while honoring heritage.
