The new format will see the GemFair commencing on a Sunday and concluding on a Thursday, a change designed to better serve a wider audience. Bruce Bridges, President of the AGTA Board, highlighted the success of the five-day format in previous years, noting a significant 7% increase in buyer attendance in 2026 compared to 2025. He emphasized that the overwhelming majority of exhibitors surveyed supported retaining the five-day structure. The strategic shift to a Sunday-Thursday schedule was primarily driven by the goal of attracting over 150 companies that did not participate in 2026, many of whom traditionally favored weekend exhibition dates. John W. Ford, Sr., AGTA's CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the fixed schedule, which will allow participants to plan their calendars and travel arrangements well in advance.
